Student Partnership Agreement
The Student Partnership Agreement (SPA) outlines mutually agreed priorities and actions for delivering measurable and tangible improvements to the student experience.
Following St.Patrick’s day, a massive Litter Picking Project was organised on March 21, by DUSA Volunteers to clean up the campus. More than 50 volunteers participated in this event and with this, we celebrated the milestone of 60 DUSA Active Volunteers at the end of the event.
DUSA is committed to contributing as much as possible to a greener and more sustainable environment. With this vision, we always strive to make our surroundings better and encourage others to do the same. Our dedicated volunteers handle a range of tasks which includes – stocking the pantry shelves and serving breakfast to the students now with the litter-picking project they have demonstrated their commitment towards community and welfare.
The teams were divided into three and assigned three different routes to cover, which made the work convenient and helped in team building.
We would like to give special mentions to Irina Pelc (Student Opportunities Coordinator), Trudy Cunningham (Environment and Sustainability Manager of the University of Dundee) and Dumindu Nukulasooriya (Executive PA) for their hard work and dedication in running these provisions as well as the continued support of the wider DUSA staff.
The recruitment of volunteers has been a great addition to the running of these provisions, and we are grateful to everyone who has contributed to their success. Without their tireless efforts, these initiatives would not be possible. In return, volunteers gain valuable experience working in a team, building their communication and organizational skills, and making a positive impact on their community.
A special shout-out to the project lead volunteer – Maud Verhoeven and all the volunteers who were a part of such a huge project of collecting litter from all over the University campus. We are grateful for their commitment and enthusiasm, and we are proud to have them as part of the DUSA team.
If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer, simply fill out the application form on the MYDUSA website. The application process is simple and straightforward, and you’ll be asked to supply some basic information about yourself and your availability. Once your application has been received, you’ll be invited to attend an orientation session where you’ll learn more about the provisions and your role as a volunteer.
