15 Mindful Ways We Contribute To Eco-Friendliness

It is important that we take timely measures to save the environment and shift our outlook towards mindful living for our coming generations. DUSA is an avid supporter of sustainable living and this article will cover a few things we do at DUSA to do our bit in contributing towards sustainable living.

15 Mindful Ways to Be More Eco-Friendly at Workplace

1.) Recycling Programme – We now recycle 98% of our waste streams. As part of this initiative, all our food cartons and coffee cups are compostable and can be disposed of in the food waste bins.

  • General waste
  • Mixed recycling – Cans/plastic/paper/cardboard.
  • Glass
  • Food waste

 

2.) As we are developing areas within our premises, we are currently changing all standard lighting to LED-style lighting.

3.) We have changed a lot of our Cleaning Chemicals over the last period to be more eco–friendly to our environment.

4.) We encourage all the staff members with switching off lights and appliances when area/equipment is not being in use.

5.) We support the use of DUSA branded 100% recyclable and reusable coffee mugs and aluminium water bottles.

6.) The updated terrace area in the last few years, has now houses around 100 x laurel bushes – improving green space with DUSA/Campus.

7.) The DUSA Premier shop recently secured DUSA first fully EV fleet vehicle, and will have many more as they are at the forefront of sustainability.

8.) Another initiative we run, in partnership with the University is – free shop . Also all lost property clothing items are given out for free to students and all clothing repurposed and reused. It promotes sustainable use of clothing .

9.) Changed over to Sustainable, Organic Hoodies, reusable, recycled bags.

10.) Eco-Friendly Refillable Personal Care Range in store.

11.) Lease of Electric Vehicle to reduce carbon footprint and reduce deliveries vis supplier

12.) Compostable cups and cutlery and plastic free packaging on PJs Sandwiches

13.) New Range of Recycled Stationary

14.) Eco-Friendly Cleaning Range

15.) Change over to Local Suppliers

We at DUSA are on the constant lookout to adapt to sustainable measures and are ready to introduce any new products which can contribute to the environment. I thank Dave Broadfoot, Max Muraskins and Moira Dean team for the amazing work they do on daily basis toward making the surroundings sustainable and for their input to this article.
